Lymphoedema

Lymphoedema is a chronic disorder caused by the swelling of soft tissues under the skin. This can be painful and result in loss of mobility.

The parts of the body generally affected by this disease are arms and legs. However swelling can be apparent on the head, chest and genitals too.

Any damage to the lymphatic system results in accumulation of fluid causing tissues to swell. This is the medical state of lymphoedema.
