A continuity of the physiotherapeutic exercises advised should be maintained at home so as to ensure muscle strengthening. Special vascular sport training should be incorporated in the daily routine for patients who have undergone amputation due to vascular disease.

Physical disability is not a hindrance to sports and exercise. Disabled persons can pursue variety of sports customized for them. These include wheelchair football, ball and sledge ice-hockey, cycling, etc.

An appropriate daily skin-care for the stump is of immense importance since the stump is confronted with considerable strain due to application of prosthesis.
