After amputation of a limb, a growth (benign tumor) in nerve cells in the scar region is termed as neuroma. Neuroma causes sharp pain with burning sensation and numbness.
This condition has to be treated through medication and cold compression. However under extreme circumstances surgical treatment might be advised. This correction is mandatory to provide a correct fit to prosthesis.
