Achilles tendon connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. It is the strongest tendon of the human body.

The Achilles tendon is active and exerted upon at every step taken. The stress on it is multiplicative during jumping, running, etc. Depending on the activity performed the Achilles tendon is subjected to 3 – 12 times a person’s body-weight.

Causes:
